Weleda have been manufacturing health care products and a wide range
of cruelty-free skincare and bodycare products since 1921.
As with Weleda medicines, their individual ingredients are selected for
their natural therapeutic properties.
Wherever possible, Weleda grow their own plants and
herbs to ensure the very finest quality ingredients, free from
contamination from artificial fertilisers, pesticides and
herbicides.
The natural ingredients,
quality control processes and production methods for Weleda's
licensed medicines go far beyond current legislation and regulation
for bodycare manufacturing standards.
Only the best raw materials
are used by Weleda, and synthetic ingredients
are avoided. Every single ingredient
in Weleda's products is listed on the label.
Colouring and flavouring in Weleda's natural toothpastes, are
provided purely by the plants or minerals in each product.
Pure
essential oils act not only as natural fragrances but also as
natural preservatives.
This is welcomed not only by those with allergies or
sensitivities to artificial additives, who can see at a glance that
they are safe with Weleda products, but also by vegetarians and
vegans who can check whether the product is suitable.
All Weleda packaging is made from recycled materials
or virgin board taken from managed forests. Recyclable glass bottles
are also used. Only pump-action sprays are used for Weleda
deodorants, free from CFCs or any other propellants.
